The purpose of the study was to:

1) to identify needs, expectations, and barriers to improving the quality of digital educational content;

2) to explore the potential for creating joint courses between Ukrainian and European educators (Teacher Twinning);

3) to investigate students’ experience and expectations regarding blended and remote learning.

The study was conducted as an online survey (Google Forms). The target audience included lecturers and students from technical, economic, and natural science fields. Data collection covered the period from July to October 2025. A total of 404 lecturers from 64 higher education institutions and 770 students from 10 regions of Ukraine participated.

Key results from lecturers: 97.3% of respondents showed interest in creating joint courses with colleagues from the EU. The most popular formats included video lectures, interactive exercises, and tests. Main expectations from collaboration were methodological support, content exchange, and technical assistance. A high level of readiness to participate in Teacher Twins tandems was recorded.

The EdUp project team discussed key findings and agreed on further steps for implementation. The results formed the basis for developing future courses under the Teacher Twins format. They also provided a foundation for creating high-quality, adaptive, and open digital content for the Ukrainian higher education system.

Next steps in WP2 include:

🔹Forming thematic teacher tandems between Dnipro University of Technology (Ukraine) and TU Bergakademie Freiberg (Germany), Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria), and LUT University (Finland);

🔹Developing initial joint online courses;

🔹Launching a pilot course in autumn 2025.
